Date of Stay: Les Tournesol Gite Setember 2015

We travelled as a large group from Stansted to Bergerac, hired a few cars and got on our way. About 30 minutes later we arrived at our location, easy to get to. The standard of accommodation is really good and landlady (Steph) very helpful and friendly. I would recommend a car as transportation to localities could be difficult without. We travelled around the area quite a lot going to Sarlat, Bergerac, Eymet etc, all really nice towns. It was quite quiet as we were right at the end of the season but we knew that before we went. I went running every day along different routes around the Gites which were nice. Disco and Restaurant less than half a mile walk. Quite a few restaurants in Eymet which is just down the road. As a group on holiday we had a good time.

Date of Stay: Le Tournesol Gite September 2015

We stayed in the 2-bedroom gite, which was very comfortable, very luxurious and very well equipped. The gite was immaculate and the heated swimming pool was clean and it was a great way to cool down during the BBQs and after the ‘sun downers’. The local village and restaurant are both within easy walking distance. Close by is a 9 hole golf course and also river fishing. The owners, Bruce and Step were extremely helpful and very friendly, they advised us on places to visit and we were most impressed with the surrounding area. We loved the nearby places, especially Eymet which has cobbled streets and the central square is surrounded by bars and restaurants. The nearby Castle and the chocolate factory are well worth a visit, the chocolates are hand-made and you can try before you buy. We also loved Bergerac with its beautiful bridges. The holiday was wonderful, relaxing and peaceful yet there are amenities close for those who want to explore and immerse themselves into the local culture. I loved the fact that the Pilgrim Route, which ends in Santiago de Compostela, North West, Spain borders on Bruce and Steph’s property. It was a wonderful holiday and we look forward to visiting again soon.

Wonderful relaxing holiday

Visited this property in September and the weather was still hot which was lovely for a dip in the good sized heated shared outdoor pool. The Gite was very spacious and well equipped. In particular the four poster bed was very comfortable. From out gite we were treated to a rare view of a deer and a red squirrel which clime the beautiful pine tree across from the gite. The owner Steph was very helpful in recommending places to visit such as Eymet, Marmande, St Emillion, Bergerac and Domne. I recommend that you hire a vehicle as the gite is set in a rural area.

Relaxing well kept home from home family gite

The gite is fantastic. It is truly a home from home in terms of equipment with fully equipped kitchen and uk TV as well as the most epic pool and climbing frame (my children's words!). Steph and Bruce were fantastic hosts offering excellent advice on local attractions suitable for all ages in our party . It truly is a gite to relax in with lovely sun loungers and hammocks which were really comfortable. We hired both gites on site and found as a family group and a couple we could holiday together but maintain some independence. I would definitely recommend this gite , lovely location and facilities were 5*

Perfect!

We’ve just returned from the most relaxing two week break in Le Grand Pin. It was really tempting not to leave a review for purely selfish reasons, we don’t want to share how lovely this Gite is!

The photos on the website simply do not do this property justice; it’s cosy, romantic and has absolutely everything you need. It was an effort most days to drag ourselves out of bed it was so comfy to go sightseeing.

During our stay we were lucky enough to see red squirrels and deer while enjoying our morning coffees on the decking, the gite is in such a peaceful and tranquil setting.

There are two supermarkets within 5 minutes of the property and lots of Bastide Towns to visit in close proximity. Eymet was especially nice with lots of restaurants and bars and only 5 minutes by car. There are local day and night markets easily accessible and you are only half an hour from Bergerac, which is definitely worth a visit.

Steph and Bruce are the perfect hosts, thank you for a lovely holiday, you’re now in my favourites, and we’ll be back!
